Are you a Hoarder with No Where to Turn?

Are you a Hoarder with No Where to Turn?

We have worked with a lot of people who have been asked the question, “Are you a Hoarder?” While most don’t want to admit it, it is helpful to recognize the illness for what it is and then be able to work your way through the process of changing your mindset, setting goals and knowing your purpose and reason for making a positive lifestyle change.

Believe it or not, one of the worst hoarding situations I have been in was the home of a family member. It was just as seen on the television show “Hoarders”.

I think what blows my mind away the most is the amount of money that is being spent on items that are either boxed up, damaged or destroyed and when they are found there is always a comment, “I’ve been looking for that!”  In reality, you have forgotten about it until you just found it, otherwise you would have been using it for the last 3 years.

I found this great article about hoarding from the Inquirer.com and I though I would share it with you. Helping a hoarder takes time, patience, understanding and a family member or friend is most likely not the best person to help a hoarder through the process.

Check out the article and let me know what you think. Our goal is to help as many people as we can cut through the clutter and live the life that they deserve. Life is Not about stuff….Life is about experiences and memories.
