Find More Time Every Day | Organization Direct

Wouldn’t it be great if we could really find more time every day?  More time to relax and enjoy life instead of thinking of what is still on our To Do List?

BE AN ACTION TAKERWork, Life, Balance

You may think that I have totally lost it, however, when make the decision to be an Action Taker you will find more time every day. Sitting back and waiting (and hoping) for things to change is senseless. Every part of our life, business and relationship is based on us taking action to make “it” happen. Doing nothing results in nothing, zip, zilch, nada…no results.

DO NOT MULTI-TASK

Women (more than men) believe that having the ability to multi-task makes them more productive and could help them find more time every day. I don’t believe this to be true. Our time is so limited. Multi-tasking can make us “feel” as if we are being productive. I don’t believe that this is the case, and part of the reason why we struggle with Time Management

When we try to do too many activities or tasks at one time, we are actually being counter-productive and will not find more time every day. Staying focused on what needs to be done – one task at a time – is, I believe a better way to Find More Time Every Day.

PLAN AHEAD – DON’T PROCRASTINATE

Of course, one easy way to make sure that you Find More Time Every Day is to be prepared in advanced.  Knowing what is on your calendar and what needs to be done before you begin each day will help you be more productive.  I relate it to planning your meals. If you want to try a new recipe, you have to make sure that you have all of the ingredients available to you. If you don’t have the ingredients that you need the result will be frustration because it will take more time than you allotted to prepare the meal and you will not be able to eat until later or you will have to make alternative plans.

Planning your entire week in advance is one of the best ways to make sure that you stay on task and Find More Time Every Day. This will help you meet deadlines, ensure that you show up on time and, most importantly, give you the opportunity to handle an emergency (should one arise). Planning ahead allows you to handle obstacles and little interferences that will come up daily.

One of these little interferences can be a computer glitch that takes you time to figure out or something or someone who demands your attention. An unlimited number of unexpected events can take you totally off task (especially when you are operating on an already over-stretched schedule).

SET SPECIFIC GOALS

Identify what needs to be done every work day in order for you to reach your goals. Finding the balance of what Has to be done and Needs to be done vs. What you Would Like to Do will allow you to make sure that you Find More Time Every Day.
